Don’t Miss The El Gordo de Navidad Draw

Christmas is nearly here and the El Gordo de Navidad lottery takes place on December 22 with a prize fund of  €2.408 billion.

‘Three Orchids’ tells the story of a man who on a stormy day finds a jackpot winning El Gordo de Navidad ticket with the name ‘Julia three orchids’ written on the back. Does he keep it or try to locate the owner?  He  sees a van with the name ‘floristeria tres orquideas’ written on it. That allows him to  return the ticket to its rightful owner.

In ‘Vika’ a woman has recently moved to Spain and has problems with the language. A female work colleague helps her and great improvement is made. We see them in a bar where Vika is told about the El Gordo de Navidad draw and her friend offers to share a ticket with her as “Here we have a habit of sharing the lottery we care about like our friends.”

Tradition

Finally, we have ‘The Journey’ which is set in a snowy Spanish village. Esteban is a shepherd whose best friend is in hospital. Along with his sheep, he travels a long way to visit him. When arriving there, he gives his friend an El Gordo de Navidad ticket as he does every year. It’s a tradition that simply cannot be broken.
